Well now that we have had an hour or so to try and forget that last post, it’s now time for some free music!
This week’s Free Music Friday comes from the band Tiny Victories. I had never heard of Tiny Victories prior to Spinner posting this free download. I do have to congratulate Spinner on accurately tagging this band. spinner says the band “sounds like the Editors, Interpol.” Yeah… that’s about right. It’s a pretty decent song. At least good enough for me to check out more. So there’s that.

I don’t know what to say about this other than it makes me want to cut my ears off and stab out my eyes so I never, ever have to be confronted with this monstrosity again. I understand what they (Nicki Minaj and Hype Williams) are trying to do here. I get it. But I also get that this is not good. It’s not good at all. It is the opposite of good. This is bad. Very bad.
But since I’m sure there are people (who are probably deaf) that might listen to this and maybe even try to dance to it, here is the new “video” for the new “song” from Nicki Minaj called “Stupid Hoe.”
You want proof that god doesn’t exist? Bam! There you go.
Snow Patrol may not seem like a natural selection to kick off today’s Friday Dance party but you are gonna have to trust me here. This song has the word “dance” in it! How can that not be appropriate for Friday Dance Party? And this video features people dancing. Again, how can this not be perfect for Friday Dance Party.
I know that hatin’ on Snow Play is the modus operandi for most music bloggers but I’m just come right out and say that I kinda like ‘em. That’s the other reason I’m including this video in today’s Friday Dance Party.
So dance to this.
Snow Patrol’s “In the End” video:
I gotta say, I like the song. So go ahead and strip my music snob/blogging credentials.

I am pretty eager to hear the new White Rabbits album. I am a fan of the band’s last album and as such I am looking forward to the new one. A couple weeks ago we posted one of the band’s new songs and now a video has been released for that very same song.
The video (for the song “Heavy Metal”) is quite good. It’s also quite odd. A lot of odd movement and blank expressions make this video very interesting. Also, when Mitt Romney wins the presidency we will all be able to live like this.
White Rabbits’ “Heavy Metal:”
The band’s new album, Milk Famous, comes out in March.

How about we get our rock on? It’s been a while. Some may even say it’s been too long. I’m not sure who would say that but some one might. Maybe even you?
Mastodon released a new album, The Hunter, last month and not too long ago the band released a video for one of the new songs on that album. The video is for the track “Dry Bone Valley” and it (the video) is kinda trippy with some weird animation and faces changing in to stuff. And I think there are some weird blood splatters but I’ve only had one cup of coffee so it could really be anything.
Mastodon’s video for “Dry Bone Valley:”
Do we all feel adequately rocked?

Sound TeamWe take a moment to remember, fondly of course, an awesome band that broke up after releasing one album.
Gavin Glass and the Holy Shakers Make Me TrembleEnter one Gavin Glass. Lisa Hannigan’s guitarist by day, Glass has certainly carved a niche all his own.
