Apparently the Shins are broken up… at least all the way. James Mercer (the main Shin) is still prioritizing his and Danger Mouse’s Broken Bells project, but the singer told someone (MTV if you really need to know) that he plans to bring the Shins back together this year in hopes of putting out a new album next year.

That’s good news if you are a Shins fan. But if you are eagerly awaiting the Broken Bells album you may be comforted to know that Mercer and Danger Mouse are already at work on a follow up.

I bet the dude Mercer kicked out of the band is totally stoked to hear this news.
