Well now that we have had an hour or so to try and forget that last post, it’s now time for some free music!
This week’s Free Music Friday comes from the band Tiny Victories. I had never heard of Tiny Victories prior to Spinner posting this free download. I do have to congratulate Spinner on accurately tagging this band. spinner says the band “sounds like the Editors, Interpol.” Yeah… that’s about right. It’s a pretty decent song. At least good enough for me to check out more. So there’s that.
Click here to check out and download “Lost Weekend.”

I like Barenaked Ladies. Kinda. Actually, I really like the first several Barenaked Ladies but the more recent the album, the less I like it. But I still respect them as songwriters. And Kevin Hearn, the group’s keyboardist is one of those songwriters. I guess he has a new album coming out and Spinner is giving away one of his new songs for free. Cool. That’s cool.
The song is good and very un-Barenaked Ladies. It’s a piano driven number that almost sounds more like Menomena than Barenaked Ladies.
Check out and download the song, “Tell Me Tell Me,” here.

Psst. Yo. You want some free music? Yeah, free. The first one is free. The rest… the rest is gonna cost ya. But this one is free. Just try it. I bet you’ll like it.
That’s my impersonation of a drug dealer giving away music. What a great impersonation! I bet I totally had you fooled. Just call me the Man of 1,000 Voices.
Anywho, we do have some free music for you. Earlier today Matt Pryor posted a link to download one of his new songs. Thanks Matt! You are the best.
Click here to download “Your New Favorite Song” from Pryor’s new album, May Day, which comes out Jan. 24.
Or you can listen to it first right here:

CEREMONY is getting ready to release their fourth album and I’ve never heard of them before this morning. That sucks. Because I have now heard them and I am digging hearing them. Such is life I guess.
The band’s label (Matador) has offered up one of the new songs for a free download. Yay! That’s awful nice of them.
Click here to download “Hysteria .”
… or you can listen to it right here:

In the spirit of the holiday season we thought we’d give you guys some free music. Actually… I guess we aren’t actually giving you stuff, just pointing you in the direction of stuff. And I guess we aren’t doing it in the spirit of the holiday season either because we give you guys free stuff all the time. So… whatever. How would you like some free music?
Okkervil River posted a free EP a short while ago that you can download for free. Isn’t that nice of them? I think it’s nice. The EP is five cover songs. Cool. This is a good band and a good free EP. You can download it from the band’s website here.
That’s it for us this week. We’ll be back with some stuff next week but we will still be “on vacation” so it will be a little light. Have a good weekend everyone and we’ll leave you with this last little gift:
