The questions isn’t “who is playing Coachella this year?” but “Who isn’t playing Coachella this year?”

At The Drive-In is finally back together! I say finally because there have been rumors, about every two-to-three years, that the band would be getting back together. And now those rumors finally prove true. The band tweeted yesterday that they were, in fact, reforming for a series of concerts which we now know includes Coachella. Awesome. This is awesome news. At The Drive-In are a great fucking band. Seriously great. And in addition to the tour the band is also releasing a compilation album complete with b-sides and covers. Awesome. That is also awesome news.
You can find all the details at the band’s official website.
As a reminder of At The Drive-In’s awesomeness. watch:
At The Drive-In “Quarantined:”
I wonder what this means for the Sparta reunion rumors.

We don’t post as many tour dates as I wish we did. It just comes down to the fact that I update most of the news myself and there are so many things to post that by the time I get around to posting tour dates, many of them have passed. Also, as is the nature with tours, bands don’t tour every single city so a good chunk of you readers are completely unaffected by the tour news.
That said, occasionally there is a band that goes on tour that I think is a big deal. Big Audio Dynamite, reuniting and touring the U.S. this summer is a big deal. So, here are the dates that Big Audio Dynamite will be performing, here in the U.S. – Music Boxer will be at one of these.
August 2, 2011 Boston, MA – The House of Blues Boston
August 3, 2011 Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Bowl
August 4, 2011 Philadelphia, PA – Electric Factory
August 6, 2011 Chicago, IL – Lollapalooza
August 7, 2011 Minneapolis, MN – First Avenue
August 10, 2011 Los Angeles, CA – Club Nokia
August 11, 2011 Anaheim, CA – City National Grove Of Anaheim
August 12, 2011 San Francisco, CA – Outside Lands Festival
Let’s all go to one of these shows!

These guys are blowing up in a major way. They are huge right now. Your mom even mentioned them last time you talked to her (which was like weeks ago so you should probably call her). So because they are so huge here are a couple little pieces of Mumford and Sons news for you on this Tuesday morning.
Mumford and Sons will be touring the US via train. Yup. Train. They will be taking a vintage train, hitting the rails and making a handful of stops across the country. Here are the dates:
Oakland Middle Harbor Shoreline Park, California – April 21
San Pedro Ports O’Call Village, California – April 22
Chandler Arizona Railway Museum, Arizona – April 23
Marfa El Cosmico, Texas – April 24
Austin 4th and Waller, Texas – April 26
New Orleans Woldenberg Park, Louisiana – April 27
Additionally, Rolling Stone Magazine has a couple videos of the band performing. Check the boys out right here:
Now go call your mom.

One of my favorite band’s is getting back together. But I wish it was under better circumstances and on a more permanent basis. The band recently lost one of the original members, drummer Gregory Slay, after battling Cystic Fibrosis.
Remy Zero, who broke up in 2003, are getting the band back together for a series of benefit shows to raise money for the Honeymoon Trust. The Honeymoon Trust was started for Slay’s wife and daughter.
In addition to the reunion shows, the band has also released a previously unavailable song titled “‘Til The End” which you can hear right here:
If you like that song you can download it here.
The concert dates are only on the west coast but if that’s where you are then you should check out one of the shows. This band is responsible for one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen.
Dates are as follows:
THURSDAY OCTOBER 07
Dante’s – Portland OR
FRIDAY OCTOBER 08
The Crocodile – Seattle, WA
MONDAY OCTOBER 11
Café Du Nord – San Francisco, CA
TUESDAY OCTOBER 12
Spaceland – Los Angeles, CA
