Free Music Time!
We were going to review Antony & The Johnsons’ new album, Swanlights, this week but… we didn’t. I’m not real sure why but we all kinda just sat there looking at it thinking to ourselves “we should review that” and then we went and did something else. That in no way should be an indication of our opinion of the album, it’s just that we all had stuff to do this week. Crazy stuff.
So while we work on a review of Swanlights we have a free download of “The Spirit Was Gone” for you. That way you can listen to the song, form your own opinion and then compare and contrast it against our opinion. It’s kinda like homework! We all love homework.
So click here to head over to rcrdlbl.com and to download “The Spirit Was Gone.”
Hooray for free music!

It’s Monday so let’s get straight to the new music streams. This week isn’t as crazy as last week but there are still some serious album streams going down. Here’s a quick rundown of ones that fell into my lap.
NPR is streaming:
Belle And Sebastian – Write About Love
Antony And The Johnsons – Swanlights
MySpace is streaming:
Maps & Atlases – Perch Patchwork
Styrofoam – Disco Synthesizers & Daily Tranquilizers
Spinner is streaming:
Tim Kasher – The Game of Monogamy
The Gay Blades – Savages
And a ton more.
so there you go. That should keep you busy for a while.

Antony & the Johnsons is kind of a weird band. They are good, don’t get me wrong, but they are a weird band. First and foremost they are fronted by Antony Hegarty, who has one of the most distinct voices in all of music. And by “distinct” I mean weird. I’m not passing judgement… I’m just saying that if Antony Hegarty got on American Idol the judges and assholes in the audience would freak the fuck out.
Anywho, Antony Hegarty and his band have a new EP out as of yesterday entitled Thank You for Your Love. Do you want to hear a song off it before you decide to buy it? Of course you do. That’s what America is all about, trying before buying.
Well, listen to this then. It’s the title track from Antony & the Johnsons’ new EP. And if you dig it you can download it here.
