It’s no secret that cats rule the internet. Well… cats and porn. Hopefully not both at the same time but I’m sure there is at least some of that out there. But cats seriously rule the internet. I’m sure you are forwarded or come across at least one cat related thing per day on the internet. I think, and this is my own personal opinion, that there are like 10 people out there that REALLY love cats and those 10 people are obsessed and spend every waking moment creating and sharing stupid cat shit. Which is a shame because dogs are better than cats.

Oh no I didn’t!

I realize what I just said and I realize that many of you just screamed “bullshit” at your computer in response to reading that. But that’s what we are talking about this week. Cats and dogs. So we have two videos one featuring cats and one featuring dogs – Best Coast’s “Crazy For You” (cats versus Delorean’s “Real Love” (dogs). This will settle things once and for all.

Hey kids, I have an important message for you – don’t date someone in a rival gang.

I know it’s tempting to date someone that isn’t already inside your particular social circle but if you do, it will end in death – always. Dating someone that you know you shouldn’t is exciting and the extra bit of danger added to the relationship can provide an addictive spark but it has never, ever worked out for anyone who has ever done it. We’ve seen it again and again (and again and again and again) so I’m not even real sure why we still have to address this. But apparently there are still some kids in gangs that are dating kids in rival gangs. There are plenty of fish in your gang so don’t look anywhere else – unless you want to die a tragic death.

Here, let’s watch this public service announcement that is totally different from all the other public service announcements on the subject that have been around since forever:

Hollywood is behind this message so now you will pay attention to it, right? You kids in gangs only pay attention to what famous actors and actresses have to say right? That’s what I thought.

Everyone knows that the internet was invented solely to distribute cat related media – videos, animated gifs, pictures, etc. One thousand years ago some dude sat in his cave-office and thought to himself “I have this funny video of a cat falling off the couch because it got scared by another cat and I’d like to send his to my friend in East Pangaea but I the internet doesn’t exist yet” and so he invented the internet. That’s exactly how it happened. Or “god” did it if you are in to that silly nonsense. Ha Ha! Just kidding! Put down your pitchforks you crazy people. I was totally kidding about the “silly nonsense” part… kinda.

Anywho….

Best Coast has a new video that features cats. Why? Because the video is on the internet, that’s why. The real question should be “why don’t all music videos feature cats since they are all online now.” That’s the real question.

"I'm cool" - This chick

Alright… get ready to revoke my Hipster Card because you aren’t going to like what I have to say next.

I don’t like Best Coast. I don’t like them at all. I don’t get it maybe but I just don’t ever want to listen to them. I don’t hate them, I just don’t like them. I realize that having a foot (and probably several other body parts) in the hipster scene that what I just said constitutes treasons but I refuse to pretend that I like something that I don’t. Even if it means I have to turn in my obnoxiously large and brightly colored Ray-Bans.

So when I saw that they had a new video out my initial reaction was “neat. Don’t give a shit.” But then I remembered that a lot of people in skinny jeans really like Best Coast. Of course a lot of other people who do not wear skinny jeans also like Best Coast but whatever… I was never good at math. What does that mean? It’s early – cut me some slack.

I like the part of the video where they don’t show the creepy guitar player dude the best. They should do that more often.
