"Hello! I'm a weirdo!" - This chick

OK. We have to talk about it. I haven’t been talking about it but now I have to talk about it because this new video exists and I can’t keep my eyes off it.

What the fuck is up with the hair? Seriously. At first I thought it was a wig but now I’m not sure. I still want to believe it is a wig but at the same time why the fuck would you wear a wig like that? Oh, wait… the answer to that question is “because you are Bjork.” So… nevermind I guess.

Also, why hasn’t anyone yelling about how Lady Gaga owes Bjork royalties?

Anyways, here’s the new Bjork video for “Moon:”

That hair is going to give me nightmares.

"Hello! I'm a weirdo!" - This chick

Bjork released another new sog via her “Biophilia” ap today. The track is called “Moon” and it just kinda eh. The song is pretty sparse. Like a lot of Bjorks recent stuff there isn’t too much going on here. For the most part the song is am acoustic guitar and/or glockenspiel (maybe?) playing underneath Bjork’s voice. There is a pretty slow and occasional bass riff that comes in half way through but that’s really it. That’s all she’s got for us in this song. While I was listening to it I kept waiting for shit to go crazy but it never did. It just stayed the same all the way through.

Oh Bjork…

Check it out:

I think Bjork should let me produce her new album. Actually that’s a bad idea. I don’t know shit about production.

"I'm crazy talented and also crazy" - This chick

So far Bjork is one for three with the new tracks from her Biophilia project. The track “Virus” has been released/leaked and while it’s not bad it’s… well, it’s not all the good either. The song has a heavy bass beat and glass bells. That’s really about it. It’s very percussion-y and the only other thing on the track is Bjork’s vocals.

This track is pretty indicative of the Bjork of recent years. The Bjork I’m not as big a fan of as I once was. But why take my word for fact when you can listen to the track and make up your own mind. Am I right?

The app thing Bjork is doing is actually really cool. A lot cooler then I thought it would be. So that’s good.

"Taste like burning" - This chick

Björk has a new video everyone! That is good news because, in general, Bjork makes pretty good videos. Adding to the good news is that the video was made by Michel Gondry. That is really, really good news because that guy makes really good music videos too (most of which are Bjork’s). Michel Gondry and Bjork – two great tastes that taste great together!

This new video for “Crystalline” isn’t one of the best from either of these guys but it is good. It mixes animation with Bjork “dancing” in the moon. Or something. As per the usual, I’m not real sure what the hell Bjork is doing here but, you know… whatever.

Check out the video here:

I totally relate to this video. Ha ha… just kidding. I have no idea what’s happening here.

Bjork is steadily releasing new songs now through her app thingy. I haven’t picked up any of the apps yet myself because, honestly, it kinda seems like way too much work to hear new Bjork stuff when we all know that any new song will be online everywhere about .45 seconds after the release of the app. Also, Bjork has been so hit and miss for awhile that it’s hard to go get stuff on faith that it will be good at this point.

But hey, guess what! One of the new songs is online (.45 seconds after the release of the associated app) and you can listen to it, if you want to, right here.

This song, like the first one released from this little project, is pretty good. It’s pretty sparse though. Not a lot going on here and Bjork’s vocals are what pushes the song along.

anyways, check it out, or don’t. And if any of you out there have the app, let me know what it’s all about. Basically, do my job for me.

Bjork is doing something weird (revolutionary?) with the release of her new album. She’s releasing it via apps. I guess each song will be released as an app that will work with all the other apps for all the other songs to make some complete multimedia experience? Or something. I’m not entirely sure. The whole thing is kinda weird. As I’ve mentioned in the past, Bjork and I have had a rocky relationship lately. So I haven’t been that interested in figuring out what is happening with her new album.

But…

I am just now listening to the first single from her new album, “Crystalline,” and it’s fucking great! It’s a step back to “classic” Bjork and I’m really enjoying it. So… I guess that means by the end of the day I’ll have a much better understanding as to what the hell she is actually doing.

Do you want to hear the song? Sure you do. Check out “Crystalline” here:

Looks like I might have to get an iPad now. Just kidding. iPads are for nerds.

"I'm not always worth the effort" - This chick

So Bjork is doing something. I’m not exactly sure what it is because at this point trying to wrap my mind around anything Bjork related is just way more effort then I’m willing to spend trying to wrap my mind around anything Bjork does. She’s amazing and crazy talented and great but also I feel like she slaps me in the face every once in a while and it’s been a long week and I don’t really want to get slapped in the face.

But I do know this: here’s a video of Bjork driving somewhere listening to a new song that she made. Neat? Kinda neat. But also really normal.

Check it before you wreck it:

OK. So… ok. Got it. Thanks Bjork.

The Dirty Projectors (yay!) and Bjork (double yay!) have teamed up to record some new music. The music is weird. I ain’t gonna lie. But if you are a fan of both Dirty Projectors and Bjork (both.. not one or the other) than you probably won’t even blink while listening to the new stuff. Those that are not fans… well… maybe you watch this instead.

The collaboration now has a fancy new website where you can download (after making a donation) the new song “All We Are,” watch some videos and read a letter that explains the project. I started to read the letter but then I got to the part about the family of whales and decided that it would be better if I just didn’t know the story.

Anywho, click here to go to the website to get your Dirty Projector + Bjork on.

In unrelated news, the link I posted earlier (for those that don’t like Bjork and Dirty Projectors) is what’s wrong with this world. Just sayin’. But now that we’ve kinda talked about it we can continue to ignore it… as the world should.
