It’s Friday so let’s just cut the crap and get right to the dancing!
Cee Lo has a new video for the song “Anyway.” The video features Cee Lo’s gigantic head and some girls dancing. That’s it. Well… I guess there are some displayed in the background occasionally but… that’s it. But it’s early and we can only stand one senor stimulus at a time so we don’t have to watch this, we can just dance to the track.
Cee Lo’s “Anyway” video:
My god that man’s head is big. It’s not a head it’s a planetoid.

I have a lot of stuff to post. A lot of stuff has been happening and that only pushes the stuff that I already had back. Damn life… always moving forward. So to help resolve the backlog a little bit (since the backlog is SEVERAL months now) I’m gonna post two things here. I’m gonna post something new and something old. Why not? Sounds like a good idea to me and if you don’t like it then you can just go ahead and ignore the part of the post (new or old) that you object to. So really… it’s win, win.
First up, something new. Here is a new (as in hours old) song from Cee-Lo. The song is called “Anyway” and you can check out the “official” lyric video right here:
Next up we have a video that came out months (and months) ago from Against Me!. The video is for the track “Spanish Moss” and is a pretty run-‘o-the-mill tour video. Here’s that one:
I might do more of this “old and new” over the next couple week’s to get through some of the back log. I guess I could stop taking vacations and stop traveling but screw that.

So the Grammys were last night. Whatever. There are many, many problems with the Grammys and award shows but we don’t have to get into all that because really… what’s the point? We all know there are problems but we watch anyways. But since the Grammys happened last night we figured we’d use it as the basis for this week’s bout.
We figured (hypocritically as it is) to take two of our favorites in the Record of the Year category and pit them against each other to see who wins here at Music Boxer. So we have Jay-Z against Cee Lo. These are two great songs and great videos so really, this is a hard vote to cast. But life is hard. It’s how it goes.
So go, watch and vote!
Last week’s winner, Maritime (WI won again!), has been sent to the winner’s circle.
Cee Lo and Danger Mouse make up Gnarles Barkley.
Danger Mouse and James Mercer make up Broken Bells.
So having a little fun with his friend and sometime band mate, Cee Lo has made a parody of the Broken Bells song “The Ghost Inside.” Cee Lo’s version, “The Ol’ Sauseej” is kinda funny. Not “ha ha” funny, but kinda funny.
Check it out here.
Neat!

Cee Lo is continuing his assault on our world of music with his brand new video for the track “It’s OK.” And you know what? The video is OK. The song is also just OK.
The video features Cee Lo doing his thing (singing) with a bunch of women. There is some kinda neat art effects but that’s kinda the whole video – Cee Lo and a hot chick, Cee Lo singing and Cee Lo in some neat art effects. That’s it.
Fortunately Cee Lo’s label (Warner) isn’t full of assholes that stop us (everyone) from embedding music videos in our sites so you can watch the video right here!
See. It’s just kinda OK. Maybe that’s what he was aiming for.

My thing with Fridays is like this: I run myself pretty hard through the week so when Friday comes around I’m spent. It (almost) literally takes a crane to get me out of bed and there is a 97% chance I will not be getting up when the alarm goes off. Today I got up when the alarm went off but decided that my alarm was being an asshole and so I turned it off and went back to bed for an hour or so.
But that’s why god (just kidding) invented dance music. So when we get to Friday there is something to get the blood moving so we can make sure we are solid enough for Friday night.
So here we go. It’s Friday and here is Cee Lo’s new video for “Bright Lights Bigger City.”
Don’t forget that we reviewed Cee Lo’s new album! You can read that here.

Hey!
Did you see that we reviewed the new Cee Lo album? We did! No, we totally did! Yeah. Aaron got the album yesterday and already reviewed it. That’s some serious god damn dedication there. I won’t mention the fact that it’s been forever since Aaron reviewed an album…
Anywho… here we are with a brand new review of Cee Lo’s new album The Lady Killer. While you may not be familiar with the album, I’m sure you’ve heard the “Fuck You” song because it’s been fucking everywhere for the last four months.
Click here to read the review.
We’ll have more reviews next week so make sure you check back then to find out whether or not you should buy an album.

Have we all recovered yet? Halloween is awesome. I just wish I remembered more of them. Oh well…
Since it’s Monday let’s get you a list of albums that are streaming right now:
MySpace is streaming new ones from:
Matt & Kim
Good Charlotte
Spinner is streaming new ones from:
Paul McCartney & Wings
Andrew Bird
Cornershop
Elliott Smith
NPR is streaming the new one from:
Cee-Lo Green
That’s what I got. If you got more leave ‘em in the comments.

It’s free music time ladies and gentlemen!
How exciting this is! It’s like Christmas… but it’s not. Even though there is already Christmas shit in every store. I think we all need to cool it with this Christmas shit. I mean seriously. We can’t even enjoy Halloween (the greatest holiday in the history of ever) anymore because of god damned Christmas. Enough people! Let us have one holiday to ourselves! Seriously!
But that all has nothing to do with delivering you guys free music. So here it is. We have a new song from Cee-Lo’s new album! The song is titled “We All Want Someone” and you can download it right here.
Or you can listen to it here first:

I guess the video we posted last week for Cee-Lo’s “Fuck You” song wasn’t a real video. And since the song has exploded all over everyone’s earlobes I guess it was only a matter of time before we got an “official” “Fuck You” video.
What I love about this video is that they paid a little to say “fuck You.” I bet the casting was great for this video.
“Can you say ‘fuck you’ like you are really mad at some bitch? No, not like that. Meaner” – The casting director.
Anywho, here is the official video for “Fuck You.”
I guess it’s a good enough video but… I don’t know. I just don’t think it was necessary. I actually prefer the one we posted last week. Oh well.

Allegedly there is a Cee-Lo Green solo album hitting the interwebs in October. I say that because there really isn’t any official word and since it would probably be considered a hip-hop album, the release date doesn’t mean shit.
But there has been a steady stream of new Cee-Lo songs released over the last couple weeks. A couple week’s ago we posted this and our friends over at Stereogum posted a free download of another new song titled “ChamPain.” Click here to download that.
But over the weekend Cee-Lo released a “video” for the new song “Fuck You.” The word video is in quotes there because the video is just the lyrics to the song animated like the intro to a Steven Soderbergh film. But the song is good and since it is good you should check it out here:
Yeah! Fuck you!

Cee Lo Green has a new album coming out… maybe. I say maybe because details are potty at the moment. Why are details spotty at the moment? Because, that’s why. Who needs to know all the details about when, or even if, something is gonna happen?
And while we don’t really know what’s happening with the solo album, we do have an awesome new track (and video!) for Cee Lo’s cover of the Band of Horses track “No One’s Gonna Love You.” The video is the story of lovers on a road trip. We’ve all been on road trips with lovers so we can all immediately relate to this video. Especially the part when one of the lovers (SPOILER ALERT!) bails on the other lover.
Enjoy:
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve left a lover sleeping in a car along the side of the road – I’d have like, $250.23.

Bruno Mars has been backing up people (B.o.B. and Travie McCoy) as of late but now he is ready to go out on his own. I guess he gots his big boy pants on.
Today he released a new video for his song “The Other Side.” The song (not the video) features both Cee Lo Green and B.o.B. The video is pretty boring. If you pulled Bruno Mars and and put in Jason Mraz no one would know. Or if you took out Bruno Mars and put in John Mayer… no one would know. Or if you took out Bruno Mars and put in Britney Murphy. OK… maybe someone would notice that last one but only because that would prove the existence of zombies. What? Too soon?
Check out Bruno Mars “The Other Side” right here:
Decent song, boring video.

The new Twilight movie is gonna be dumb. But that’s ok because I am not the target market for the Twilight franchise. I AM however apparently the target market for the soundtrack because… it’s awesome. All these awful movies have had good soundtracks. It’s like someone in a room deep in Hollywood said “Jeff isn’t going to see these movies but let’s still get money out of him by making the sound tracks super dope fresh.” Assholes.
Anywho, the whole soundtrack is streaming online right now. All you have to do is go here and listen.
The soundtrack includes new songs from Muse, Metric, Florence and the Machine, The Black Keys, The Dead Weather, Vampire Weekend, UNKLE, Fanfarlo, Cee Lo Green and a ton of others. It (the album) comes out next week. I have no idea when the movie comes out because I’m not a 14-year-old girl.
