Face to Face broke up and then got back together.
That’s pretty much the story of every band in the last 20 years. Every band breaks up and then gets back together. It’s just the law now. Except for At the Drive-In. They are the exception that prove the rule.
But yeah, Face to Face is back together and they just released a (pretty good) album. And now they have a new video for one of those new songs. The video, for the track “It’s Not All About You,” is an animated video that has the band killing zombies. Cool. I kinda feel like the whole zombie thing has run its course (or should have run its course) but whatever. You can watch the video exclusively through KROQ and by clicking here.
The middle finger at the end is a nice touch and totally “punk rock.”

Look, I know that title doesn’t make sense. You try writing a music blog every day! That’s what I thought.
NPR is streaming new albums from Thurston Moore and Kate Bush.
Spinner.com is streaming new albums from:
Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi
Glasvegas
Iggy Pop
A shitload of Nick Cave albums
… and many more
Paste Magazine is streaming the new album from Art But.
AOL is streaming the new album from Face to Face as well as a lot of the same stuff as Spinner.
There are probably a shit-ton more out there so if you got more for us, leave them in the comments.

Do you Like Face to Face? And of course I mean “Like” in the new era version of the term with relation to the Facepagester thing or whatever. And I ask that also because Face to Face has a couple new songs, from the new album, up on the band’s official Facepagester page and in order to listen to these new songs you have to “Like” the band.
Lame.
Can we move beyond forcing people to “Like” things BEFORE we have a chance to actually decide if we “like” them? Also, Facepagester is retard. And I mean “retard” not in the way High Schoolers use it but the way French people use it (look it up).
So if you feel like “Like“ing Face to Face in order to hear a couple new songs then you can do so by clicking here.
Kids today and their “Like“ing things…

A common theme in my life, and as you may have discerned over the course of my tenure here at Music Boxer, is that I don’t really go back. Nostalgia is not a feeling I have very often. I typically just move on and while I look back fondly, I don’t go back and revisit things I use to like. I’m currently going through this exact feeling with Face to Face. The band was one of my favorites – 10 years ago. Since then I’ve moved on (literally) and am no longer in the place I was 10 years ago (literally). So going back now seems like something I don’t really want to do.
But…
KROQ has a new song from the punk rockers. The song is called “It’s Not All About You” and I haven’t made up my mind about it – which I guess is a good thing because if it sucked I would know right away.
Listen to “It’s Not All About You” by clicking here.
I’ll buy the new album when it comes out but I’m not sure how much air time it will get this summer. Especially since we are expecting a new album from The Antlers.

I’m almost ready to pack it up and head back to the AZ. I have seen two VERY good concerts in the last two days so I’m hoping that trend continues tonight. You know who else is very good in concert? Face to Face. (Yes I know that was a really awkward transition but… whatchugonnado?)
Face to Face has recorded (or maybe still recording) a new album. That’s good news because they broke up a couple years ago. The album, Laught Now, Laugh Later, looks like it’s gonna drop next year but the band has posted a new song on their website. So that’s cool.
Check out “Should Anything Go Wrong” right here:
Neat! Sounds like Face to Face alright. But that’s a good thing in case you were wondering.

This week’s bout comes from a Twitter suggestion. That suggestion read like this:
“do punk!!!!!!!”
So OK, we’ll do some punk. Seeing as how Warped Tour ended yesterday this suggestion seemed topical. I guess it would have been more topical back when the Warped Tour kicked off but… whatever. We can’t keep track of everything.
This week we have two punk legends: Face to Face and Social Distortion. Growing up in the 90s punk scene both these bands hold a special place in my heart. I’ve seen both in concert about 100 times (mild exaggeration). I’m not bragging, I’m just sayin’.
So go watch and vote for your favorite.
Last week’s winner, Toto, has been sent to the winner’s circle.
So in the last couple days (as my city burns! Sorry… I’ll stop with the fire shit now) there have been a whole bunch of album announcements. Instead of doing one news post for each, how about I just list them all here for you. That work? Well, too bad… because it’s going down like that anyway.
Jimmy Eat World has completed a new album
Face To Face has completed a new album
Maritime is recording a new album
Radiohead is recording a new album
Margo and the Nuclear So and Sos have recorded a new album
Paul Heaton (of the Beautiful South) is recording a new album
Reuben’s Accomplice is (still!) recording a new album
Amanda Palmer is releasing an all ukulele album of Radiohead covers
Well, that’s all I got right now. There is more out there I’m sure but I have to get out of town (literally). More tomorrow… maybe.
