A couple weeks ago Foals won the Best Track NME Award for “Spanish Sahara” and they totally deserved it because it’s an amazing song from an amazing album. To celebrate the win, the band uploaded an early mix of “Gold Gold Gold” from the EP of the same name.
That’s awful nice of the lads.
You can download that early mix of “Gold Gold Gold” by clicking here.
Foals are getting ready to come to America (again) and that’s really good news. I am going to see them. I’m not sure where or how but I’m going to see them.
Here’s something kinda totally awesome.
Foals covering Duran Duran’s Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World:”
It’s almost as if that song was written for them to play.
Ed. Note: Oops. Thanks… this is a Tears For Fears song.

Decisions suck. Well, not all decisions suck. Like the decision to have mac ‘n cheese or a gyro for dinner isn’t really that big of a decision. But choosing between seeing Foals in California or The National in AZ… that’s a hard decision. Maybe not for some but for me it. Damn. Why did those jerks schedule concerts in two different places on the same night! How is that fair?
Oh well, I’ll deal.
Anywho, Foals have a new video for a track off their amazing new album. The video is for the song “Blue Blood” and features a kid lip-syncing the song while prancing around embarrassing his mother. Maybe it’s his mother. I’m not sure how families are structured over in England.
Check it out here.
These guys are so good. SOOOO good! Too bad I’m going to miss them because I decided to see The National.

I had a dream the other night where Foals asked my band to open for them on a US tour. Then I woke up and was bummed because I don’t have a band right now but more so because Foals are awesome. The Brits are very quickly becoming one of my favorite bands.
I think everyone should have more Foals in their lives and because I think that I’ve got two things to help that happen for you. First, check out this live, acoustic performance of “Spanish Sahara,” the amazing new song from the band’s newest album Total Life Forever.
Click here to watch the video.
And if that isn’t enough to convince you that Foals are totally awesome, the band is giving away a free song that is a left over from the Total Life Forever recording sessions. The song sound similar to a couple of the other tracks on the album so I can see why it was left off but that doesn’t mean it ain’t good. Because it is good. Real good. But there is a small catch here. In order to get the song you will have to sacrifice your email address – but it’s totally worth it.
Click here to download the song “Wear & Tear.”
Foals are on tour in the US but because I live in s shitty, racists state they aren’t coming near me. Damn.
I need to start a band.
Wanna see a weird video for a good song?
Foals – 2 Trees from Sub Pop Records on Vimeo.
See told you.
Monday. Blah. You kn ow what I mean? You totally know what I mean.
But there is some good news this morning. I haven’t posted very many tour dates on this site for a while. Not sure why… just haven’t. But my inbox is flooded (not literally – that would suck) with people letting me know band’s are heading out on tour. So rather than posting each of these individually, here is a big ass list of bands that are going on tour this fall and a link to their tour dates. This obviously isn’t a full list of EVERY band that is going on tour… because that would be a stupid long list. Anywho, here you go:
James
Eels
Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos
Jonsi
Foals
The National
Frightened Rabbit
Owen Pallett
U2
Stars
Guided By Voices
Like I said… there are a ton more, that’s just the ones I had in my inbox.

So, in the last post I teased that we would be giving away a copy (electronic) of Foals new album Total Life Forever and we are! Whoohoo! Hooray for free shit! That’s what life is about. Doing almost nothing to get something. Right guys? Totally.
So here’s the deal. In order to get this free (electronic) copy of Total Life Forever you have to be following us on Twitter. I know! That’s pretty damn tricky of us! But it’s really the best way to manage this whole process. In about an hour we are going to post a message to our Twitter letting you know the contest has started. Once that message goes out, the first person to respond (via Twitter) to said tweet will win. That easy. Something for almost nothing.
In case you didn’t see all the other links to it, here is a link to our Twitter.
Stay tuned! And this is how all future contests/give aways will go down in the future… or at least until we get bored with this and figure out something else.

Hey! Did you know that we posted new review? We did! Brian sat down with the new Foals disc, gave it a listen or two and documented his feelings about it. Neat right? Well, if you like Foals and/or like reading what other people think about music than check out the review here.
In other Foals news… Pay attention to this here Music Boxer site ‘cus we will be giving away a free copy of the new Foals album this afternoon! I know! That how we do.

Yesterday was national Album Stream Notification Day but we weren’t able to get to all the National Album Stream Notification Day news so here’s a little more.
Right now, right this very minute, Spinner.com is streaming new albums by Devo, We Are Scientists, Tom Petty, The Gaslight Anthem, Sarah McLachlan, Foals, Pernice Brothers and more – even though it’s the day after national Album Stream Notification Day!
Click here to check them all out.
Awesome.
