This isn’t how I was gonna start this morning but when I watched this I said to myself “well, shit, that’s really kinda cool and I should start the morning off with this since it’s cool.” For the A.V. Club’s Undercover series, Nada Surf covered New Order’s “Bizarre Love Triangle” and it’s cool. It’s actually one of the best Undercover performances, in my opinion. It’s not 100% faithful (with regard to the sound) of the original but that’s just fine. Nada Surf puts their own spin on it and it comes out pretty darn cool.

Nada Surf is great.

Did you get the new Nada Surf album yet? I told you it was good so you should have gone out to get it. If you haven’t, don’t worry there is still time. But also, hurry up because you are missing some valuable Nada Surf listening time.
And if you, for some unknown reason, still need more convincing, here is a free (FREE!) download of the best song from Nada Surf’s new album (courtesy of Sound It Out).
Nada Surf’s “Waiting For Something:”
If you didn’t figure it out, you click on the little down arrow to download the song. But you got that, right? You guys are smart.

Nada Surf’s new album came out last week. Did you get it? Why not? It’s great. It’s not as good as some of their others, but it is a great record. I recommend it. That’s my review of the album.
The best song on the new album is “When I Was Young” and that song now has a video. The video tells the story of a kid that “accidentally” doesn’t make it to school on time and is forced to fuck around New York City all day, all by himself – which I’m sure happens all the time. I bet parents who live in New York City are totally cool with their kids just running around, unsupervised, New York City if they are a little late for school. I bet parents in New York City even expect their kids to just take off and fuck around New York City alone if they are a little late for school. Who wouldn’t? It’s not like there are any other options other than fucking around New York City all alone if you are “accidentally” a little late for school. Anywho…
Nada Surf’s “When I Was Young” video:
Damn that’s a good song.

Monday. You know what I like about Monday? Nothing, that’s what. But Mondays are like Nickleback – they suck, everyone hates them but talking about it is really just a cliche. That said, it’s Monday. At least there are some new albums streaming online right now to get us through the first hours of this new work week.
Here’s a run down of what we’ve found for you so far:
NPR is streaming new albums from:
Leonard Cohen
Gotye
Spinner.com is streaming new albums from:
Nada Surf
Craig Finn
Matt Pryor
First Aid Kit
… and many, many more
The new Errors’ album is streaming right here.
The new Chairlift album is streaming right herehere.

Yesterday was a holiday. Duh. So we didn’t work. We went to a hockey game because hockey is awesome. It’s a fact. Ask anyone. Since we were out yesterday we didn’t post links to albums for you to stream but that is remedied as of right now.
While we didn’t find much, here’s a run down of the albums we found that are streaming online right now:
Spinner.com is streaming new albums from:
Ani DiFranco
Anthony Green
Matthew Dear
Kathleen Edwards
… and many more
NPR is streaming new albums from:
Nada Surf
Rodrigo y Gabriela
First Aid Kit
Craig Finn
And… actually, that’s it. That’s all we found. Hmmm. Well, if you know of any others feel free to post them in the comments.

It’s no secret that I think Nada Surf is the best. I’m not a lyrics guy but for whatever reason, Nada Surf’s lyrics get through to me. Also, they are just awesome songwriters and are great live. So basically what I’m saying is that I have a huge heart-on for Nada Surf. Duh. I think you got that but sometimes I just like to really drive the point home because why not?
Nada Surf has a new album coming out in a couple weeks and the band just released a new song! Yay! The song is called “When I Was Young” and you can check it out right here:
The new album, The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy, comes out on Jan. 24 and you can pre-order that shit right here.

I’ve spent all morning looking for full album streams (not really, I actually have more important things to do) and I couldn’t find very many so I think we will just skip that “feature” today. There are some new singles that have been posted so I thin I’ll pull those together into a post here in a bit but before I do that I wanted you all to see this nice little video from Nada Surf and Rolling Stone.
Last week we posted a video of Nada Surf front man Matthew Caws singing a new track all acoustic like and this week we have him singing another new track all acoustic like. Cool. This song is called “Teenage Dreams” and it is not a cover of a Katy Perry song.
Check it out:
I wonder if the kitty cat song he sings at the beginning of this video will be on the album.

Nada Surf has a new album coming out and that is good news for everyone because Nada Surf is fucking great. sorry for the profanity there but it’s just fact. The band released a new song, “When I Was Young,” and some website in France just filmed and posted a video of Nada Surf main dude, Matthew Caws, singing the song acoustically in a museum. Sweet.
Check it.
Sweet.

Nada Surf, one of the most underrated (ever?) bands and a personal favorite, has a new song out today! That’s fucking awesome. Sorry for the language but that is just some really great news.
The band will be releasing a new album, The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy, in January of next year but since that is forever away, the band and NPR have consipired to bring us a new track well ahead of the release date. Awesome. And you know what? The new track, “When I Was Young,” is fucking great. I am in love with it. I’ve listened to it about 10,023 times since this morning and I’ll probably listen to it 123,527 more times before the end of the day. And to make it even more awesome, NPR is letting you download it.
Click to listen to/download “When I Was Young.”
Stay tuned for more new tracks because there have been many in the last couple days…

Nada Surf released a covers album a couple months ago and today they dropped a new video for their version of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence” on us.
The video is run-of-the-mill, black and white performance/tour video. Nothing truly special but it at least shows the boys in good spirits – laughing and enjoying themselves and each other’s company. That’s always nice to see in these types of videos.
Enjoy “Enjoy the Silence:”
The covers album, If I Had a Hi-Fi, is out now.
