"Yeah! Yeah! This is a good jam!" - The dude on bass

Pomplamoose. Oh Pomplamoose. I, like almost everyone else in the U.S. got real sick of seeing Pomplamoose real fast last Christmas. They (in their car commercials) were on every commercial break, all day long, every day for four months. That’s too bad because the band is relatively harmless and fun – even though they can be a little boring and silly. All that together endeared the band to it’s fans.

Perhaps sensing that they were a little overexposed, it has seemed to me that the band has kinda laid low the last couple months. Well, no more. The band just released a new song called “Monster Mask” and posted a video for that song on the band’s YouTube page.

Yup… pretty harmless and fun – even though it’s a little boring and silly.

Ben Folds teamed up with author Nick Hornby for a new album. Folds wrote the tunes and Hornby wrote the lyrics. Weird. But at the same time kinda cool. Bits and pieces from the album have slowly leaked out but today we have an actual video.

This song, “Things You Think,” has a spoken word bit from Hornby and also features Pomplamoose and in fact this video is from Pomplamoose’s vlog (is that even a word?). So here you go, enjoy.

Eh… I’ll reserve judgement until I hear the rest of the album… but I don’t think I’m gonna rush right out and get this one. But the album, Lonely Avenue, comes out Sept. 28.
