MUSIC NEWS:

This week’s bout comes from a Twitter suggestion. That suggestion read like this:

“do punk!!!!!!!”

So OK, we’ll do some punk. Seeing as how Warped Tour ended yesterday this suggestion seemed topical. I guess it would have been more topical back when the Warped Tour kicked off but… whatever. We can’t keep track of everything.

This week we have two punk legends: Face to Face and Social Distortion. Growing up in the 90s punk scene both these bands hold a special place in my heart. I’ve seen both in concert about 100 times (mild exaggeration). I’m not bragging, I’m just sayin’.

So go watch and vote for your favorite.

Last week’s winner, Toto, has been sent to the winner’s circle.

"What the shit is that?" - Dude who isn't looking at the camera

Bad Religion has been around for 30 years. At least that’s what they are telling us. But to celebrate these 30 years of awesome and punk rock ass kicking, Bad Religion is giving away a free live album. Yup, free! The album was recorded on the band’s last tour and in order to get the album you do have to sacrifice your email.

The free live album is available on the band’s website which you can get to by clicking here.

A couple of the tracks on the album are new and will be on the band’s next album… so that alone makes this worth downloading. Unless the songs suck… but we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. I mean, shit, the dudes have been punk-rockin’ since forever.

"We are all about hugs and mohawks" - Rancid

According to the band’s label, there is a “never before seen” video for Rancid’s “Poison” out there that no one has ever seen. I find that unlikely. I’m sure someone had to have seen it because… it exists. I doubt that a blind person shot and edited the video. But whatever, semantics.

So here is Rancid’s “never ever nerver erver ever never seen before” video for “Poison:”

Hmmm… not real sure why that particular video was hidden away in some secret vault so no one could “never ever nerver erver ever never seen it.” Maybe it’s because of all the orange people in the video. Racism is totally back right now so maybe this video is just now being released to stir up some shit with orange people.

I don’t know.
